Character Creation.

These are the guidelines which should be followed when creating a new Malkavian character.  If you have any questions regarding these rules, please email the head of the Malk Players Association, Brian.

Please note: The Necropolis Malkavian Game will not be accepting any kindred characters from players that already have an existing Malkavian Character. Ghouls are open for creation and encoruaged as PCs to all players.

Please be aware that the Necropolis Game is no longer allowing the "play testing" of characters. Due to this change in rules, all submissions will be awarded pending approval status as soon as stats are reviewed, with full approval to be assigned once the STs have had a chance to fully review the sheet and see the character in action.

The Camarilla Necropolis chronicle Doesn't accept child vamps.
  1. All characters will start with a Generation between 11th and 15th.

  2. Only characters less than 250 years of Age will be considered for the Necropolis Chronicle game. If you plan on playing a character that is over 100 then a detail descript is needed. Also anything over a 100 the char will have be torpored for 50% of the time ie. 200 yr old = torpored for 100.

  3. No Sect Status, Elder Status or Clan Prestige will be recognized for new players. This is something that will grow on the characters during the game. Claiming to be a Primogen of Prince from another city will not help in this matter. It just wouldn't be fair to the players who has spent a lot of time in the game to be out ranked by a totally new character. The only way to gain status and prestige in Necropolis is to devote time and effort in service to the clan and Camarilla.

Archetypes

No Child Nature or Demeanor

Demeanor is the way a character presents herself to the outside world.

Nature Is the characters "real" self, the person she truly is.

Attributes:

In your Attributes you automatically receive a dot in each stat so your minimum score will be at least 1. You receive the basic 7/5/3 to allocate where you please don't have to many 4 and 5.

Abilities:

In your abilities you get 13/9/5 to allocate where you please. Although you can put them in anywhere you like we suggest that you keep your stats low around 3. 4 and 5 are for specialties.  So please don't have a ton of them all over your sheet.

Disciplines:

You get 3 dots to put in your disciplines. You must allocate those dots in Clan Disciplines. If you want a out of clan discipline than you must purchase it with freebie points. A list of what out of clan disciplines can be bought will follow below. The Malkavian Clan disciplines are Auspex, Dementation, Dominate, and Obfuscate. Why 4? Until this past year Malkavians of the Camarilla studied Dominate, but now for some unknown reason Dementation is spreading like crazy. Older character might have dementation, but it will be low because it is just starting to go around in the Camarilla. New characters embraced this year(1997) will have dementation instead of dominate.

Backgrounds:

You get 5 points to allocate in your backgrounds. Generation can only be taken up to 3 as a max and you can't purchase status or clan prestige.

Virtues:

You automatically get 1 dot in each virtue and then 7 more to put where you please.

Humanity:

Your humanity is determined by adding you conscience and self-control together.

Willpower:

Your willpower is determined by your courage rating. If you have a courage of 4 than your willpower is 4.

Secondary Abilities:

During character creation the use of secondary abilities helps to round off a character pretty well. Secondary abilities can be purchaced either with your 13/9/5 allotment, or at the cost of 1 freebie per 1 dot.

Derangements:

Every last vampire of Malkavian blood is irredeemably insane in some way, shape or form. Some Attribute this to a curse of the blood, while other Lunatics actually call it a special gift. When a Malkavian character is created, the player MUST choose at least one derangement for that character at the time of the Embrace; this derangement can be temporarily fought with Willpower, but can never be permanently overcome.

Please make your derangements original, we are having to refuse approval to characters with certain derangements (such as Child Regression,Multiple Personalities and Schizophrenia).  Please make sure that when submitting a character through the online character sheet that you put down your derangements in the box provided make sure to include triggers and specifics.

The Gift of Malkav:

The Malkavians have to gifts. One is the Malkavian Madness network or MMN a kind of link between the Malkavian family there minds as a whole. The second gift is the Prophesy it allows Malkavians to tap into some unknown source and read the moves of the Jyhad.  We have created a system by witch to play both these gifts.Please read.

Merits and Flaws

You can take A many Merits as freebie points but Only up to 7 points in Flaws.

Freebie

You get 15 Freebie points.  Attributes cost 5 freebie point.  Abilities cost 2 , 2nd abilities cost 1 freebie points. Backgrounds,  Humanity, and Willpower cost 1 point.  Disciplines cost 7 points.

Experience points

After you character is approved you start gaining xp.  You receive 1 point a week for 6hrs of play a week.  Plus what ever xp you gain form approved plots.  If your character is Inactive for 60 days then you stop earning xp and the character is taken off the ic group until he or she contacts the the ooc coordinator or the Primogen.

Attributes: current rating x 4
Abilities: current rating x 2
Clan discipline: current rating x 5
Other Discipline: current rating x 7
Virtue: current rating x 2 (increasing a virtue through experience does not increase traits based on that virtue ie humanity and willpower)
Humanity: Current rating x 2
Willpower: current rating x 2

Concepts
This is a game that is only accepting new characters at a beginning level. So keep that in mind when coming up with your character concept.
