Principals and Guidelines of Wicca

Wicca is a very personal religion focusing on growth as a person. Most Wiccans from all traditions make contact with the earth, nature and the divine Goddess and God.

Wiccans live intune with the seasons of the earth and celebrate the Sabbats which honor the harvests and equinox etc.

Wiccans follow the cylce of the moon and celebrate the full moon and its powers.

The Religion of Wicca seek out magic and embrace it. Magic is a divine force that can help us in out daily lives. It is also a science, not just a religion.

Wiccans are always honorable and have igh moral standards, and never harm people with spells and magic.

"Wicca is always evolving and changing"

"We believe in Magic"

"Wiccans believe we can change the universe by sending our own power into it."

"We live by nature"

"We seek personal Developement"

"Herbal Practices"

"Devine is both Male and Female"

"Free Sexuality"

"No Hierarchy"

"We take responsibility for our own life"

The Wiccan Rede :"An it harm none, do what ye will."
If you harm no one in your actions, you are free to do what you like. This does not mean you are free to run around and play with ethics and morals. You have to have a great deal of dicipline to live with this rule because so much is at stake here.
If you do a spell to get money for example you have to be so carefull how you word it and how you preform this task because someone might die and leave you a fortune, but that is definately not what you meant.

Your Homework

Find a copy of the Rede and write it in your Book of Shadows. It can be on the first page if you want or you can put it in a "Poem" section. Its a nice thing to have in the beginnen of your BoS though.

Secondly, write how you think Wiccans practice the craft today. Is it very different from how Gardner practiced? It doesn't have to be long, but put it in your own Book of Shadows. When you come back to it years later, you might will see how your own opinions have changed.
