As you have read, the vampire was almost was seen as almost godly. However, they possesed too many human qualities. That eventually led to their near extinction. War, pain, and anguish... Today vampires are seen as an illusion, a farce and figment of the imagination. We have lost the ability to identify the creatures of the night. If by chance, we happen upon the reality that they do exist, as a whole in human society, we must treat them kindly, for they can and might bring about our demise. They are our bretheren and we must treat them as so.
