You know, it's funny. The more time that passes, the more I start to
think that I am better off without Destiny by my side. She left me
because of the bond that I had with my brother. And the more I think
about it, the more I come to realize that she was just going to try and
use me again. She wanted to use me, to help her put an end to Sean, and
why not? She's done it before. She had me and Sean at each others
throats ever since we first met. Destiny came to me because I shared
Seans last name. At the time, nobody but myself knew the truth, that I
was in fact Seans brother. I do know that my presence had sean a little
unnerved, and that was before he knew we were related! Destiny noticed
that as well, that is surly the reason she first came to me. It wasn't
about love, and she sure as hell didn't think I was cute. Look at the
facts, Destiny is a spoiled little brat from a rich family. When she
first met me, I was living in an apartment that should have been
condemned. She was used to dating handsome, wealthy men, I was piss
poor and ALWAYS wore my mask. So, the fact that I didn't have any
money, the fact that she had no clue what kind of face lied under that
mask waiting for her, and the fact that Destiny Prince knew absolutely
nothing at all about me at the time... It all goes to prove that our
relationship was always based on control. Destiny wanted to use me,
which she did. Destiny wanted to control me, which she did. She wanted
Sean dead... But I didn't do that. I wouldn't do that... I mean, no
matter how heated our rivalry ever got we were still brothers. I
couldn't kill Sean, and when it was revealed that he was Keith Sharpe,
I decided right then and there that I, Micheal Graves, did not want to
continue fighting with my brother. I did not want to endlessly wage war
against the one remaining family member I had. I truly believe, that
when Destiny found out that Keith was really Sean, she wanted me to
start our war back up. She wanted me to try to finish Sean off, once
and for all. When I refused, not directly, but by befriending my lost
brother, Destiny didn't seem to like it. Not too long afterwards, she
left me, and all I had to remind me of her was the note she left behind.
Well this was it. I've decided that it's best for me to just move on.
Over the last week I have thought about calling her. I've thought about
trying to talk Destiny into coming back to me, but the more I think
about it, the worse it sounds. Now I'm thinking that it just might be a
blessing in disguise that she left me. If she can't get along with
Sean, then she doesn't need to be with me. You see, I plan on having a
healthy relationship with my brother from this point on. I see no need
to go back into the past and dig up a feud that was all started by a
woman. Sean and myself have nothing more to prove to one another. I
have accepted him as a brother, as a friend and as an ally. I am pretty
sure he has done the same. We've waged war in the ring together, and
together we have over came every obstacle that came our way. Now we
both have a chance of branching back out into singles competition. Now,
some people think I am jealous of my brother because he is getting a
shot at the World Title, while I am only being given a shot at the
Canadian Title. Those same people think that I take it as an insult
that Sean is getting the better shot, while I am only given a mid level
shot. That couldn't be further from the truth. The fact is, I am a
former World Champion, and even though I would love to get a chance at
that title again some day, I am perfectly content with the Canadian
Title. Right now, I am just rooting for Sean to go all the way. I know
he has the tools to win his match tomorrow night, and then move on to
win the World title itself. Fred L isn't the challenge he used to be.
He's not the same Fred L that won the Universal Title, and I am
positive that given the chance, either me or Sean could easily walk
away with the World Title. Now, another question that has been coming
into play is, what if Sean or I either one, or both win a singles
title, are we going to continue defending our Tag Team Titles? The
answer is quite simple, and that is hell yes! No matter what title I
ever hold, these Tag Team Titles will always mean allot to me. One,
because they helped bring me and Sean together, after all this time,
and two, because we are dead set on going down in the record books and
one of the best teams to ever grace the XWF.
The scene opens to the location of
tomorrow nights Anarchy. The XWF crew is just now starting to construct
the set for tomarrows show. Mean while, backstage in the locker room
area, Steve Sayors is conducting interviews and promo spots for the
upcoming show. Micheal Graves is one of the men who was asked to come
down and provide an interview for the great Steve Sayors. Graves is
there Dressed in a heavy black leather trench coat, acid wash jeans,
and a black T-shirt with a skull on the front of it. Graves has his
long dark brown hair bulled back in a ponytail, and he has his mask in
his hand. Micheal is standing up against a wall talking with one of the
crew members as Steve Sayors walks over.
Steve Sayors
Hi Micheal, nice to see you
again.
Micheal Graves
how are you doing there
Steve-o?
Steve Sayors
I can't complain. listen, if
your ready, everything's set up, and we are ready to roll.
Micheal Graves
Sounds great, let me just get
this thing on.
Micheal pulls his skull mask over
his head, and pulls his ponytail through the top of the mask. Micheal
removed the rubber band from his hair, and teases it out around the
mask. He then walks over to the set where the interview is going to
take place. Steve Sayors stands in front of the Anarchy Set while the
director positions Micheal and Steve for the shot. Once everything is
in place, the camera start rolling.
Steve Sayors
Micheal Graves, this Thursday
you have a chance at becoming the number one contender for the Canadian
Title, while at the same time, your brother and team team partner, Sean
Graves, has a chance to become the number one contender to the World
Title. What are your thoughts?
Micheal Graves
Well Steve, I don't know if
your trying to cause problems or what, but I am absolutely fine with
the opportunity that has been given to me. The Canadian Title isn't as
highly respected as the World title is of course, but to hold any title
in the XWF is better then holding the top tier title in other feds. As
far as Sean getting his chance to to after the World Title, let me just
say that it's been a long time coming for him, and he deserves it.
Steve Sayors
So even though you are a
former World Champion here in the XWF, your content with pursuing the
Canadian Title?
Micheal Graves
No, it's not content Steve,
that's not the right word to use. The correct word is thrilled. I am
thrilled about getting this chance.
Steve Sayors
So your not interested in
another World Title run, or maybe even a chance at the Universal Title?
Micheal Graves
Now your putting words into my
mouth Steve. I am happy with what Shane Carver is given me so far. He
has a bad rap because of this whole Black Order thing, but Shane knows
talent. When he looks at me, I'm sure he sees a talented worker, just
like with Sean. If he thinks I deserve a shot at the Canadian Title,
and not the World, or Universal, that's fine. I will do everything in
my power to win that title, and unlike some other people who bitch and
moan when things don't go their way, I will use the Canadian Title to
WORK my way into a higher slot. So, to answer your question in short,
the World and Universal Titles are both a goal of mine. A goal that in
time I will reach, but for the time being, I am willing to work my ass
off and prove to everyone here that I am a valuable asset to this
company.
Steve Sayors
Well there have been reports
that Sean Graves isn't exactly thrill with getting the shot at the
number one contenders spot for the World Title. He's gone so far as to
say that you deserve it more.
Micheal Graves
Sean is just being modest.
Admit it or not, he knows that he is ready for a World Title reign.
He's been in this business just as long as I have, and he has been with
the XWF just as long as me as well. My time came, I got my shot, and I
won it. now it is Seans turn. He knows he is capable of winning any
match he's entered in, all he has to do is believe and focus. Focus is
the key word. If he goes into that match tomorrow night unfocused, he
could easily walk out with nothing, but if Sean stays on top of his
game, he could soon become our new World Champion.
Steve Sayors
Back on the subject of you, it
seems that your opponents view you as the big threat tomorrow night.
Nick Nitro has gone on record stating that you are the only man that he
might have trouble pinning tomorrow night.
Micheal Graves
I risk sounding cocky here,
but don't they have enough reason to worry about me? I mean, lets look
at the facts. Since I have returned to the XWF, I have been undefeated.
I've beaten all of the big names on Massacre, either with Sean in tag
matches, or solo while I was still under the Chalupa moniker. Then at
X-Mas X-Treme, Sean and myself pulled a win out over the Black Order
when we defeated Weapon:Ashen and Darkhan. And finally, upon coming to
Anarchy for the first time last week, Sean and myself defeated the team
of Steve Jason and Confusion. Now, most people here in the XWF would
consider pinning Steve Jasons shoulders to the ground cleanly just as
coveted of a prize as winning the Universal Title. Well I did that.
Steve Sayors
Ok, but what do you think
about your opponents?
Micheal Graves
I think they are all very
talented. I think they all deserve the shot that they're getting
tomorrow night, but I also think they are all going to fall victim to
to me, and my will to win.
Steve Sayors
Well Chris Connolly claims
that he wants to win this match more then any of you.
Micheal Graves
That's a common remark that
flies out of a mans mouth before a big match. Hell, I say it myself
alot. the key though is proving it. Prove that you want it more then I
do, because until you do that, it doesn't mean anything. I think I have
proven my will to win over the last two and a half months. I've faced
every challenge that has came my way, and when it was all said and
done, I always walked away with my head held high. Now, I'm not saying
that Chris Connolly doesn't want it more then me. I'm saying that I
don't believe he does, and if he doesn't, then he isn't going to win.
If he does, and I am wrong, then he might just walk out with a win over
me, and the other two men in this match.
Steve Sayors
Well what about Lee Stone,
what are your feelings on him?
Micheal Graves
I don't know the guy all that
well to tell you the truth. I know he was acting as a lackey for Bob
Fairway on Massacre, and I know that Fairway fired him in his last act
as GM of Massacre. I know that the only reason Lee Stone is on Anarchy
is because of that firing, and Jonathyn Brown taking pity on him.
Steve Sayors
So you don't think Lee Stone
deserves to be on Anarchy?
Micheal Graves
Well, for Jon to offer him a
spot on Anarchy, he must have done something to deserve it. So I would
have to say that maybe he does, I don't know yet. What I do know is
this, Lee Stone didn't have to sit on Massacre for TWO months and fight
his way to the top tooth and nail. He didn't have to face off against
on of the top Anarchy stars at X-Mas X-Treme just to get his shot on
Anarchy. Sean and myself fought harder then we have fought in a long
time to get on Anarchy. And now that we are here, we plan on taking it
up a notch or two. If Lee Stone can do that as well, then by all means,
he deserves to be here, but currently, I'm still not convinced.
Steve Sayors
Moving on, in the last XWF
Extreme Magazine that came out, writer Chad Micheals questioned if you
were trust worthy in a feature article. A few pages later, I read a
rumor that hinted at you and Sean being the next members of the Black
Order....
Micheal Graves
Whoa, hold the phone! First
off, I was extremely upset with that article. I've known Chad for a
long time, and I can't believe that he would stoop so low as to
question my loyalty. I've had a troubled past, it's no secret, but I'm
not now, and haven't been for some time the man that he was writing
about. I think I have proven that I am loyal to this team, and to the
XWF. As far as joining the Black Order, I haven't receive an official
invite yet. I've heard that it was discussed, but those are just rumors
my friend. As of right now, I haven't been offered a spot, and if I
was, I highly doubt I would accept it.
Steve Sayors
Well if you didn't, then you
would be one of the first. It seems that everyone who is offered a spot
in the Black Order accepts it, and those who haven't been offered a
spot, dream of being a part of it. So what sets you apart from them?
Micheal Graves
I can't speak for everyone,
but if you asking why I wouldn't join, it's simply because I want to
make it on my own. I don't need the GM of Anarchy, and half of the damn
roster running in on my matches so I can win. I am quite capable of
winning on my own, and when the time comes that I step into the ring
with an opponent that I can't handle, then I would rather lose with
honor, then to win by cheating. It's that simple.
Steve Sayors
Honor is something that not
too many people have in the XWF these days, or so it would seem.
Micheal Graves
Your right, and it pains me to
know that there are people here more worried about winning a match at
all cost, then they are people who would rather win the right way. Take
Dynamic Dynamite for example. I've always thought that he was a great
athlete, hell I still think he is a great athlete, but the fact that he
surrounds himself with the Black Order, and then relies on them when
something isn't going his way, it just diminishes his image, and the
image of that belt he carries around his waist.
Steve Sayors
Well Micheal, you are truly a
breath of fresh air here in the XWF. I wish you the best of luck
tomorrow night.
And
CUT! The cameras switch off. Micheal Graves and Steve Sayors shake
hands before Micheal walks off the set and removes his mask.
