Part
Four - Mentally Prepared
It
has been a while since I have stepped into the ring of battle. A few
months have past since I last felt the energy of a live crowd. You know
when (Jonathyn) Brown fired me, I figured I would finally get away from
this business. Finally get a chance to move on with my life. Heh, who
was I fooling? As much as I hate this business, I can't help but love
it. If it weren't for wrestling, I'd be dead already. Ironic huh? A
profession that requires you to put your body on the line night in
and out, that often pushes you beyond the limits of normal men, and
almost always sends you to an early grave, is also the saving grace of
my life. You see, before I broke into this business, I was really into
drugs. Not something I'm proud of, but something that has plagued my
life none the less. I almost died on two occasions, but somehow I
pulled through. I like to think that I had an angel watching over me,
making sure that nothing bad happened to me. Why? Because I felt that
my life had a greater purpose.
Around the turn of the century I cleaned myself up. I quit everything
cold turkey, and decided I was going to go out into the world and find
my calling. Well, I found it alright. I was working out one day when
this man approached me. He looked a bit like a slime ball, really
untrustworthy if you know what I mean. He began asking me questions
about what I did for a living. When I told him that I was unemployed,
he
asked me if I would like to try wrestling for his company. you see, he
had started a small wrestling promotion titled GWFO, Golden Wrestling.
I really had no experience with Wrestling, except for vague memories
from my childhood, but I decided to take him up on the offer anyway. I
thought maybe, just maybe this was it. Maybe this was my calling. After
four months of working for GWFO, I received a call from the NWO. This
company was much bigger, and they really seemed to want me to be a part
of their show. We came to an agreement that still allowed me to work
occasional shows for GWFO, while getting national TV exposure with the
NWO.
Life was really going great by that point. I couldn't complain if I
wanted to. Around the end of 2001, the GWFO closed it's doors. I was
able to make it to the last show, and as painful as it was to see them
go, I knew that I still had a job in the NWO. The sad thing is, just
six months later, the NWOs financial trouble had finally caught up to
it,
and they had to close their doors as well. This left me without a job,
or the desire to continue on with my career. Over the two and a half
years that I had wrestled for the two companys, I had managed to make a
great deal of money, and also amass a few injuries. Injuries that I had
put off for far too long. I felt that it was the right time to step
away from this business, heal up, and just have some fun.
But I did't have fun. As each week passed I began to miss the business
more and more. In 2003 I tried working a few small shows here and
there, but it just wasn't enough. I really wanted to return full time.
Enter Generation Next Wrestling. I was only there for about three weeks
before a scandle involving the XWF broke out, and that scandle would
lead to me leaving the GNL for XWF.
In the XWF my star rose fast. It was like I never even took a break
from wrestling. I went undefeated for months, and my first title shot
was for the World Title, against Kill Joy... I won it. The problem was,
I had found out about Sean Graves there. And we were caught up in a
blood feud that still rages on to this day. It all started a year ago
in the XWF, and to this day we still haven't settled our differences
inside of a ring.
Can I make another sucessful comeback to this sport? I'm sure I can. in
a way, coming to CWF is like going full circle. I'm now back at the
bottom, and if I want to be the star I once was, I will once again have
to fight my way to the top, tooth and nail. Two obstacules stand in my
way though. One of course is my brother Sean, who is also a part of
CWF. My feud with him will finally come to an end, and CWF will have to
be the place that happens.
The other obstacule is Sean Matters, my first opponent in CWF...
Part
Five - The Begining
The scene
opens inside of an old run down gym. The quipment in this place looks
like it's straight out of the 70's. The floors and walls are covered
with a thick layer of dirt and grime. Surly this place should have been
condeemed by now you would think. Towards the back of the building you
notice an old worn out wrestling ring. Two men are shaking hands. The
closer the camera gets, the more you detail you can make out. One of
the men is Micheal Graves, the other man is an unknown face though. The
unknown man exits the ring and walks out of camera view as we continue
to move in on Graves, who slides under the ropes and takes a seat next
to his friend Terry Blackstone.
Micheal Graves
Wow, that really was a
workout. Goes to show me what sitting on my ass for three months can do
to a guy.
Terry
Blackstone
Don't kid yourself son, you
did great.
Micheal Graves
Come on Terry, don't try and
sugar coat it for me, I was winded in what, two minutes?
Terry
Blackstone
Ok, so your a little out of
shape. Don't worry about it, you'll do fine.
Micheal Graves
Yeah, your probally right...
But then again, what do we really know about Sean Masters?
Terry
Blackstone
Well, I know that his XWF
record isn't something to brag about.
Micheal Graves
Really?
Terry
Blackstone
Yeah, the guy has lost 11 out
of 17 fights there.
Micheal Graves
Wait a minute! you mean that
this guy gets all this hype and sh*t, and he has stats like that?
Terry
Blackstone
Exactly. That's why I'm really
not worried for you. Out of shape or not, I think you can take this cat
down pretty easily.
Micheal Graves
Well in his promo, he did say
that in the past he has allowed opertunities to slip through his
fingers, and then he went onto say that he would not make that mistake
again. So he could be ready for me.
Terry
Blackstone
That's very possible. He could
be ready to smash your head in the second that bell rings. Listen, I'm
not telling you to over look this kid, but if I were in your shoes, I
wouldn't worry too much about him.
Micheal Graves
By the way, have you heard
anything from Sean yet?
Terry
Blackstone
No, I'm not even sure he's
going to put out a taped promo. The two of you are allot alike in that
aspect. Neither of you really like taping segments to hype the shows.
Micheal Graves
Well you know my story, I just
can't deal with a camera following me all over the place.
Terry
Blackstone
Yeah, and what's Seans excuse?
Micheal Graves
Well, if a camera followed him
around all the time, I'm sure they would catch enough footage to
finally lock him away for good.
The two men enjoy a chuckle at
that comment.
Terry
Blackstone
Ok man, I've got to get going,
but you take care now, and don't worry too much about Matters. I'm sure
your going to pull the out the win on this one.
Micheal Graves
Heh, I'll try not too.
Terry
Blackstone
Alright, later bro.
Micheal Graves
Yeah, see ya.
As Terry left, I began
thinking to myself. Terry was telling me not to worry about Sean
Matters, but really I wasn't. Sure, I wanted to look good for my return
to the ring, but at the same time one thing was running through my
mind. Sean Matters wasn't my problem. Sean Graves was. Now that he knew
the truth, and that he knew that I had tried to kill him, I couldn't
help but wonder, what was going to happen when we finally stood face to
face? I know Sean will never understand how I feel. He will never
accept the fact that I was being manipulated by his ex wife when I did
what I did. No, as sorry as I have felt for my actions, Sean will never
accept an excuse. The only thing he's going to accept is my blood...
