Part
One - The Back Story
ver the
last few months, allot of people have been wondering what had happened
to Micheal Graves. Graves had made a return to the XWF in late 2004
under the alias of Chalupa. After a month of competing under the false
name, Graves was unmasked after losing his unofficial Mexican title to
Steve Sanders. The very next night on Massacre, Graves began pursuing a
new face to the XWF, Keith Sharpe. The two would go on to form a
successful tag team, and even earn their way to Anarchy, the XWFs
flagship show by winning the XWF Tag Team titles. Soon though, the two
mens personalities would begin to clash. Bickering became common place
in the teams locker room. Matters worsened when Keith Sharpe was
reviled to be Sean Graves. It seems that somebody had tried to kill
Sean, but had failed. Sean was still alive, he just had a memory like a
slice of swiss cheese. The team continued on, even with the fact that
Sean and Micheal had always hated one another. They decided to try and
make this work, and who could blame them? Both men were becoming very
successful, and they had both finally found something that had escaped
them for years... family.
All
wasn't well though, it seemed that Sean Graves was growing jealous of
his brother. Sean had it in his mind that Micheal was trying to hold
him back, and nothing anyone could say would convince him otherwise.
The teams final title defense would end with Sean Graves attacking his
brother Micheal with a chair. This marked the end of era, and the
beginning of a downward spiral.
You
see, Micheal was trying very hard to get into the ring with his brother
Sean. But for some reason, it seemed as though Sean felt remorse for
his actions against Micheal. Sean was pretending like Micheal didn't
even exist, while Micheal was doing everything in his power to set up
a grudge match against his backstabbing brother. The match would not
happen though. Over the past month leading up to their final title
defense, Micheal Graves had suffered countless injuries, and had been
in
no shape to compete for a while. Since Micheal refused to take time
off from the XWF to heal, it seemed that the XWF took matters into
their own hands, and terminated Micheal Graves contract. I'm sure in
the XWFs eyes, the move was made in Micheal best interest.
But
then came the real shocker. Shortly after Micheal had been sent home,
Sean Graves found out some terrifying news, Micheal Graves was the man
who had tried to kill him so many months ago. This was enough to send
Sean Graves out of the XWF to find Micheal, and possibly kill him. An
eye for an eye and all that jazz. Nobody really knows if Sean found
Micheal, except for Sean and Micheal of course, but one hint lies in
the fact that Micheal Graves name recently resurfaced in the XWFs
developmental federation, the CWF.
With
both Sean and Micheal in the CWF, one must wonder what could possibly
be next for these two?
Part
Two - An Offer You Can't Refuse
e
rejoin 'The Dark Warrior' in his home. Micheal does not look to be in
good shape at all. Sure, Micheal is still fit, or at least he appears
to be, but his way of living does not suggest that this man is an
athlete. Scattered all around the room are empty bottles of alcohol,
everything ranging from the cheapest of beers to the most expensive
bottles of liquor. Micheal himself appears to be passed out on the
floor.
Surly you would think that Micheal has not been living like this over
the past few months. But apparently he has. Could it be because of his
loss of a job? Or perhaps it's because of what has happened between him
and his brother Sean? Most would agree that Micheal really seemed
sincere when he tried to make piece with his brother. He seemed to feel
guilty about something, but would never reveal what, or why. knowing
what we do now, one could only conclude that he must have felt guilty
for trying to take his brothers like during the summer of 2004.
Suddenly,
as Micheal still lay motionless on the floor, there comes a sound of
knocking echoing through the house. Micheal really doesn't move, but
instead just lets out some sort of pathetic grown. Next the sound of a
doorbell ringing franticly fills the air, and this time Micheal snaps
his head up to look at the front door of his home. Micheals eyes are
underlined by dark gray bags, and his beard doesn't look to have been
trimmed since he was last in the XWF. Whoever is at the door begins
knocking again as Graves slowly drags himself up from the floor,
mumbling something under his breath the whole time. Micheal reaches
out, and opens the front door. the sunlight that beams in temporarily
blinds him, and for a moment he doesn't realize that his old friend
Terry Blackstone is at the door. Micheal cringes and throws his arm in
front of his eyes as Terry just looks on in shock at the shell of a man
standing before him.
Terry
Blackstone
"You
look like Shit!"
Micheal
Graves
"Terry?"
Terry
Blackstone
"What
happened to you, you look like you've been living on the streets?"
Micheal
Graves
"Nothing
man, I'm fine."
Terry
Blackstone
"Oh
god, and that smell, is that you?"
Micheal
Graves
"What
smell?"
Terry
Blackstone
"Oh
I
don't know, it's like a mix between Jack Daniels, puke, and piss."
Micheal
lets out a sigh as a look of disgust falls over his face. Perhaps
disgust at how he has been living all this time.
Micheal
Graves
"Yeah
man, that would be me."
Terry
Blackstone
"My
God man..."
Micheal
Graves
"You
want to come in?"
Terry
Blackstone
"I
don't know, is it safe?"
Micheal
doesn't even reply, he just turns away and walks back into the house.
Shortly after Terry follows. The expression on Terry's face says it all
as he looks around the room.
Terry
Blackstone
"Micheal,
please tell me you had a huge party last night, and about two hundred
people were here drinking..."
Micheal
Graves
"Believe what you like. Anyway,
what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"
Terry walks over the the couch
and pushes some empty beer cans to the side as he takes a seat.
Terry
Blackstone
"Well,
I was wondering if you would be interested in working again?"
Micheal
Graves
"Working? You mean for XWF?"
Terry
Blackstone
"Not
exactly. You see, XWF has opened a new developmental territory, and..."
Micheal
Graves
"Wait! What happened to Total
Impact?"
Terry
Blackstone
"Long
story short, workers no showing their cards cost them so much money
that they were forced to fold."
Micheal
Graves
"That really sucks man. TIW really
had something going for them."
Terry
Blackstone
"Well,
now XWF is supporting CWF instead."
Micheal
Graves
"CWF? Is Chris Reed in charge there
too?"
Terry
Blackstone
"No,
Demonica is."
Micheal
Graves
"Demonica? As in Hellfire X's wife?"
Terry
Blackstone
"Exactly.
Anyhow Micheal, what I am trying to say is that I have spoken with
Demonica about you coming in and working some shows for them, and she
thought it would be a good idea."
Micheal
Graves
"Listen, that's all fine and good
Terry, but I've already paid my dues. I just turned thirty three. I've
held World titles in the XWF, GWFO, and NWO. Exactly why would I want
to take three steps back and work for a small company that's just
starting out?"
Terry
Blackstone
"Well,
I have two reasons that might interest you."
Micheal
Graves
"Ok?"
Terry
Blackstone
"First,
if you do well there, chances are very good that I can get you back on
Anarchy with the XWF."
Micheal
Graves
"And the other reason?"
Terry
Blackstone
"Sean
Graves is active in CWF."
The look on Micheals face changes
from interest to almost a daze. Micheal thinks back to the storied
history between him and his brother Sean. For all the fighting the two
have endured, they have yet to ever step into the ring one on one and
face each other to find out which of them is truly the better man. This
is something that Micheal Graves has wanted to do for a long time
coming. And after his brothers betrayal just a few short months ago in
the XWF, the thought of getting him into a wrestling ring is now more
enticing than ever.
Part
Three - The Return
few days have past since Terry
first met with Micheal Graves. Micheal of course jumped at the chance
to rejoin the XWF, and finally meet his brother Sean in the ring. Now,
with a contract signed with CWF, and motivation to get his life back
together. Micheal Graves had only one thing to worry about. His first
match back. That match would be in the ring against Shawn Matters.
Micheal briefly knew of Shawn Matters. He knew enough to know that
Shawn was no push over. From his matches with the XWF, to his career
through TIW, Micheal had learned enough to know that he would really
have to get his ass back in some sort of shape, both mentally and
physically before their scheduled April 15th match.
