Introduction

Students will review colors and shapes to create a PowerPoint slide show in this multimedia project.  They will choose colors from the rainbow and the following shapes that include: a diamond, square, rectangle, triangle, oval, circle.  The students will use PowerPoint which provides shape and color tools to construct their shape book/slide show.  The students will present their slide show to the class.


 
 
 
Project Outline

Each student will create their own slide show based on colors and shapes.  The following information must be included and presented in this order:

slide 1: title page 
slide 2: 1st color and shape
slide 3: 2nd color and shape
slide 4: 3rd color and shape
slide 5: 4th color and shape
slide 6: 5th color and shape
slide 7: 6th color and shape

All slides are required to have the correct spelling of all words.  With the exception of slide 1, slides 2-7 must have the an image shape, a color for the image shape and the correct corresponding words to the image shape. 


 
 
 
Unit Calendar

Week 1:  Introduce the importance of technology and computers.  Review shapes, colors and spellings of them.  Present my model PowerPoint presentation.  Explain that each student will have the opportunity to create their own slide show of shapes and colors.

Week 2: After modeling, have students practice typing color and shape words.  Show students how to save their work on a disk. 

Week 3: After modeling, have students practice clicking on image shapes on PowerPoint.  Have students practice resizing shapes and picking colors to fill in the shapes.  

Week 4: Have student decide which color and shapes they will use. Work on title page of PowerPoint.

Week 5: Begin working on slides 2 and 3.  Conduct a teacher conference.

Week 6: Begin working on slides 4 and 5.  Conduct peer conferences.

Week 7: Begin working on slides 6 and 7. Conduct peer conferences.  Conduct final teacher conference.

Week 8: Present slide show to class.
