Lord Kano
By the same token, what would it be like if you were falsely accused of rape? If you hooked up with someone at a bar and had consentual sex with her that night only to have her change her mind about it the next day and say that you raped her.
Your name, your picture, your personal information WILL be broadcast on your local news, printed in your local papers, you'll have to explain to your employer that you were late for work because you were arrested. Regardless of the merits of her claim you will forever be known as someone who was accused of rape. Even if you're acquitted in court, the cloud will hang over your head for the rest of your life. You will forever be an accused rapist. The woman responsible for labeling you as such gets to hide in anonymity. Her name is never known. She is free to pull the same scam again on another unsuspecting potential suitor because no one knows who she is.
People will be less likely to make false accusations if they know that making one will result in their name and deed becoming public knowledge.
