Senior Java, J2EE developer - Team Lead

My focus for the past 8 years has primarily been on Java technologies. To facilitate with the duties of Request and Response, I have gained much valuable experience with both UI integration and persistent data. Many times, having submitting to the Design Patterns, I have utilized a few models for various projects. I have proven my competence repeatedly with Java, Ajax, XML, XSLT, JDOM, XML parsers and many other current technologies with my work on projects like Web-services, User Management Systems, Content Management Systems, Billing APIs, Workflow applications, cooperate extranet. I attain required and expected knowledge of SQL. I have worked with JDBC, and OR Persistence technologies like Hibernate.

Wireless handset experience, WAP knowledge and their limitations has come with building WAP Decks for all major wireless handsets and wireless-carrier currently in the market prior to their commercial release.

I have worked extensively with MVC model, both with Struts and without. Model 2, Templat'ing engines like Velocity and Fabric, I enjoyed them both as a user and a developer. I have built and released J2EE application for WebSphere and WebLogic production environment.

I have experience and thorough knowledge of JSP, PHP, Perl, C, WML, XHTML, CSS, AJAX, and DHTML. I have expert level knowledge of Jakarta-Ant, Tomcat, CVS, SSH.

I have used Perl, Make, Apache Servers, and IIS.

As a Senior WAP Developer, I was contracted to upgrade Verizon Wireless's "Self Provisioning System" to version 7. This application was built for IBM WebSphere AIX environment. Unit development was conducted in a Windows 2000 machine, and ported to DEV and QA machines with Fedora OS. JSP, XML, and Servlets were used for the front-end application to deliver a true WML or XHTML to Verizon handsets. Backend consisted of JMS, Entity Beans, JDBC, Oracle 9 and XML.

  • Developed "Self Provisioning" to interface with the backend JMS using WSAD 5.1.
  • Released and QA'ed in Verizon Wireless QA and Staging Environments.
  • Performed the final no glitch successful release to Production WebSphere environment.
  • Created Release Documents, QA Reports, Test Cases, and User Flow charts.
  • Trained another developer on maintenance and overall application updates and usage.

A startup company that provides casting calls to its users in all the main cities throughout the United States, TheDailyCall owned and operated by the Fifth Media Corp, I was hired to enhance the overall application usability. The application was built around PHP/Perl/MySQL technology hosted in Apache 1.2 in Red Hat server.

  • Integrated "ECHO" billing system to facilitate a real time credit card and check processing.
  • Created a user entity and user properties to further enhance the readability and extendibility of PHP code and forked PHP pages according to the types of users dictated by the user properties.
  • Rebuilt the administration modules to give a better intuitive user interface, added much for functionality for db administration and report generation, developed separate PHP classes for user and billing management.

A leader in wireless content production and delivery, working with Moviso has aided to develop not just my skills, but also my intellect. Working continuously with big clients like AT&T, Rogers-Canada, Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, AOL, I have not once failed to deliver by the deliverables. I built high traffic, commercial web-sites for these and many other high profile clients. Aside from graphic design, my input to these web sites stretches from cutting graphic layer (layout), integrating the site into HTML and scripts to creating entity beans, logic and transactions layer. Some of my achievements listed:

  • Proactively automated the WAP R&D process by building an application with every parameter needed to R&D as XML properties.
  • Built "Karmac"; an extranet mapping tool with Jakarta Struts.
  • Played a key role in the development of version 1 extranet and customer service tool.
  • Built user management system for web-services utilizing JDOM, XML, XSD and XORM (an interface based object-relational mapping layer for JDO from sourceforge.net).

  • Built a Perl wrapper to C++ charge solution.
