GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka
Run time: somewhere around 30 min for each episode, 125 for 4 episodes
Rating: Older teen, 16+ (note: I would still watch it if you were 14), Strong Language.
(as taken from the back of the DVD set) Meet Eikichi Onizuka, a 22-year-old college karate champ and ex-biker. He’s crude, foul-mouthed, and has a hair-trigger temper. His goal: to be the greatest High School Teacher in the World! (in my vision).
Well, what can I say, this stuff is just excellent. I can’t really explain GTO without giving away spoilers that you may want to find out for your self. This show is very light hearted in some times but can get very serious in others. It mainly deals with Onizuka who basically grew up as a street punk without much of anything. But one thing Onizuka has is his heart. He seems to always know the right thing to do. Becoming a teacher Onizuka hopes he can get the youth to understand life better and be treated as equals…. Well, that is not the only reason he is going to school…. But anyway if you like a realistic but humorous takes on life as well as school life, you really should check this out, who knows, you might be for a pleasant surprise. In my opinion this is a defiant must buy.
Overall: 9 (almost perfect) / In my opinion, this is not an average anime, I think this anime well deserves a 9 if not a 10. If you have the chance, don’t miss out on this great anime.
