Seasonal Inspiration
It's Fall and will soon
be Winter. The weather
is getting colder and the
world seems to be going to
sleep. Take some time
to go outdoors and collect
some of the things Nature
has left behind. Maybe
you'll find bird feathers or
butterflies. But if
you aren't so lucky, collect
some of the last flowers
before the Winter comes and
takes them away. Keep
collecting and in the end,
you'll have a box to open up
and look at during the cold
winter months to remind you
of the world underneath the
sheets of snow. This
is also a great thing to
have for people who practice
rituals. When
celebrating the return of
the Sun or even Easter, it
can make a nice focal point
for your meditations.
Another way to preserve
the seasons is to decorate
candles. Get some
thick white candles
(preferably at least 3
inches in diameter) and melt
some white wax. Gather
some of the Autumn's most
beautiful leaves and gently
coat them with wax and
quickly apply them to your
candle. The bigger the
candle, the bigger the
leaves. Don't apply
too many leaves, just a few.
When you are done, quickly
coat your candle in wax to
keep the leaves in. |
