Veteran of the Month

Marvin Crum
Corinth, MS

The 4th Brigade, USAVR, has selected Mr. Marvin Crum of Corinth, Mississippi as their Veteran of the Month for the month of for the month of September/October 2003.

Mr. Crum entered the service in January 1942 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi and was sent to Fort Lee, Virginia for Basic Training. After basic he was assigned to the 332 Air Service Group in North Africa. There he was assigned to the 1110 Quartermaster Air Service Group as a light truck driver. During WWII he served in North Africa, Sicily, Napels-Foggia Rome Arno, Southern France North Appennies, Rhineland and PO Valley.

Among his decorations are:
Good Conduct Medal
EAMETO Medal w/four battle stars
European Campaign Medal w/two battle stars
WWII Victory wreath

He was discharged in September 1945 after three years and eight months and returned home to work as a truck driver and is now retired.

He has been married to Elvie for fifty-six years and have one son, two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Mr. Crum is also a fan of the Atlanta Braves Baseball team.
