Front Porch Welcome to Turkey Hollow!

This is our Colonial Revival house which we lovingly restored. The County records indicate that the house was built in 1920, but we think it may be older.

The house has three bedrooms with hardwood floors through out. The ceilings are 11 feet high on the first floor and 10 on the second floor. The tall windows reach the ceiling and begin only 2 feet from the floor. The first floor windows all have stationary transoms. The living room has pocket doors. The center hall staircase has unpainted wooden treads and rails. There is a full bath upstairs and a half bath downstairs. The kitchen was completely gutted and remodeled. There are porches on the front and rear entrances.

Casa Facade, Before When we purchased the house in 2004, it had been rented for many years. The result was years of shoddy maintenance leaving a shabby shell of an otherwise charming home.
Parterre Garden

House Front

The house is surrounded by 1.3 acres with lots of sun and a nice buffer of trees providing privacy and a woodland garden.

The centerpiece of the sunny side is the formal Parterre Garden. To the east of it is the circular garden that we call the Moon Garden. All the gardens in the sunny areas are rich in old garden roses. Along the western boundary is the Tea Walk, featuring Tea roses, camellias, and crepe myrtles. On the shady eastern side is the Woodland Walk.

Turkey We named the house for the wild turkeys that appear in the fall and entertain us until spring. Come on in and join us for a House and Garden Tour.
