Starworkz Children's Theatre is a local youth theatre group currently serving the northern Virginia area. Starworkz was conceived in August 2000 and founded the next summer by Kathryn and Sarah, two Thomas Jefferson high school students, and has been growing ever since. Currently, our membership spans students from 6 area high schools and colleges across the nation.
The troupe most frequently performs well-known fairy tales; favorites include "Aladdin," "Rapunzel," and "Jack and the Beanstalk." Starworkz has appeared at a variety of places, including Dolley Madison Library, the McLean Community Center, and several area nursing homes and middle schools. Starworkz plans to continue performing in the greater Washington DC area for years to come! |
Starworkz has taken its production of Aladdin to one regional drama competition, the 2002 Northern Virginia Theatre Festival, and came home with an astounding 2nd place!! The Starworkz crew also won 3rd place at the previous years' NVTF with an original piece, and 1st place at this year's NVTF with an adult theatre piece. Other regional highlights include our performance at the McLean Storybook Character Festival to an astounding audience of 250+ kids (at once!), and an eight show performance at the Oktoberfest: Munich in McLean festival to record crowds.
Eventual updates will include more of the important information concerning Starworkz; hopefully what's here is enough to give you an idea for now! Email us at "Starworkz@hotmail.com" and come back soon! |
