Brief Description of the Invention in a Patent Application

The brief description of the invention is placed after the background of the invention and before the brief description of the drawings, if any.

The brief description of the invention contains such reference phrases as "the objective is...", "a further objective is...", "a zurkeenth objective is...", etc. It essentially contains the recitations of the claims in a slightly more compositional manner. The words "preferably" and "more preferably" are frequently used to provide progressively more detailed description of the inventive features/behavior. Alternatively, it can state the invention using broad terminology.
