Matias One-hand Keyboard
Features of the Matias Keyboard
- Small footprint and light, therefore easy to move around a desk surface - can be placed on any flat surface, on a stack of papers, or even on a knee
- Easy to learn, but does take several months to master - important to keep practicing and keep the small manual nearby
- Full use of all fingers is unavoidable, therefore use of this keyboard prevents inefficient pick-and-peck typing behavior (i.e., inefficient one or two finger typing) - thus use of the Matias keyboard makes efficient use all fingers
- Allows simultaneous keyboard and mouse action (for 2-handed persons), thus allows more rapid navigation during use of computer
- Allows keyboard use (data input) with one hand while simultaneously retrieving information (e.g., reading a document or looking at a display monitor) using the other hand
- Might be retrofitted to clothing, e.g., pants or other clothing area within reach of the hand - or can be directly connected (using USB) to a mini-computer - can be used with wearable computers
