To enhance awareness of the statistical method and to provide possible tools for further use.
A calculator with built-in statistical functions, including linear regression, is required for these exercises.
Standardized normal variable: z= ( x - mean / standard deviation )
Correlation Coefficient: r = Sxy/SxSy : determines the relationship between two sets of data, the closer the determined values to one, the stronger the relationship.
Line regression for y on x: y - ymean = Sxy / SxSy (x - xmean)
Chi-squared: determines the relationship between two categorical sets of data.
Degrees of freedom: (#of rows-1)(#of columns-1)
Normal distribution: follows a bell curve with the majority of the data in the middle (mean)
Null-hypothesis: If, then statement where the goal of the problem is not achieved
Alternate hypothesis: If, then statement where the goal of the problem is achieved.
