Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy
POLICE OFFICER: Starting salary $51,000.00 per year after academy / Plus overtime pay for working special events and holidays.

United States Citizen
21 years of age
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License
Complete and pass a medical examination
Complete and pass a psychological and physical examination
Have not been CONVICTED of any felonies or domestic violent acts
Training: Upon appointment, the new police recruit will receive four months of INTENSE training at the Hampton Roads Police Academy located in Newport News, Virginia. After graduating from the police academy the recruit will receive an additional six to eight weeks of field training. Probationary period is one year.
