Welcome to my photography site! Besides being a composer/singer and poet, one of my passions has always been photography. Since my childhood in Atlanta, GA where I was born and raised, I began drawing Hanna Barbara and other cartoon characters around the age of 8. My father was a Photojournalist in the Korean Conflict and continued as a Professional Photographer in private life and taught me 2 1/4 format and the basics of B/W processing in our home lab. I've been an Artist/Photographer for 40 years and now reside in Chesterfield, VA (just outside of Richmond) with my husband, two children and mother. I'm largely self-taught in 35mm format and exhibit my photography through several local art leagues in and around the Richmond, Virginia area. My inspiration primarily comes from my working visits to Central Virginia's local and regional gardens such as Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, Maymont park's Zoo & Japanese Gardens, Metro Richmond Zoo, the James River, Henricus Historical Park, and the Appomattox River. As the seasons grow and change you'll see that I love to seek out the many animal characters, the constantly renewing gardens and the vast glory of the always magnificent James River! As a composer you'll notice that I often take poetic license with my titles and that some animal shots are a bit comical as my camera and I enjoy seeking out that spark in the character of each animal! I also enjoy the challenge of attempting to get them to pose for my camera but most often catch them *at their best* just as they go about their own individual routines.
So browse my gallery and enjoy your visual tour of the many animal characters, seasons and landscapes in the Central Virginia region.
