Horse Covered Bowls and Baskets

This gourd won the Summer Theme contest by the American Gourd Society, and graces the front cover of "The Gourd, Journal of the American Gourd Society.Yin-Yang, canteen gourd pyrographed and carved, with Gilders Paste added (green area).

The Joinup. Two large carved horses (shown) with their 'herd' on the opposite side of this 18" tall gourd.

"Flower Power". This ring of horse heads and necks looked like petals of a flower, hence the name! Extensively woodburned and carved, colored in Gilders Paste and sporting gold leafing.
