Safety
and Your Canine Crystals *Canine Crystals are to be used as a supplement to proper training and veterinary care. They do not replace either a trainer or a veterinarian. The natural properties of the stones are to be used in assistance of a goal, but you cannot expect, for example, to place a Sodalite necklace on your dog one day, and have her be an agility champion the next. *Creations of Canine Crystals, unless specifically stated are NOT dog collars; they are jewelry. It is imperative they not be used as collars for several reasons. The first is that they are simply too narrow to fuction as an effective and humane collar for a dog! The amount of pressure that would be exerted by a narrow stone band such as a Canine Crystals piece is far more than a leather or nylon strap collar. Use of a Canine Crystals necklace as a collar is asking for physical harm to your companion! *Secondly, although we use the highest possible quality materials in making our dog necklaces and take great pride in our work, these simply cannot be expected to function when attached to a leash. It would be a tragedy to be walking your dog, have the necklace snap, and have him bolt into traffic. A dog can wear both a necklace and a collar comfortably, so please don't compromise his well-being by ignoring safety precautions.> *Canine Crystals necklaces, however, MAY be used to hang small charms, tags, etc., especially from the clasp. Charms are a fun way to "jazz" up a necklace and add a little extra "sparkle" to a beautiful piece of jewelry. They are also strong enough to survive supervised romping at the dog park or with a friend. *Please note that the Canine Crystals necklaces currently available are to be used on dogs (or humans) only!!! Cats, ferrets, and other small adventuresome creatures could accidently be caught on something and choke themselves on the strong wire. In the future, we will be coming out with elasticized safety necklaces for your smaller companions. *Similar to the concern above, never, EVER leave your dog unattended with a necklace on! Never crate a dog with his necklace on, as (especially in smaller breeds) the wire can get caught on something and he won't be able to escape, creating a traumatic experience for her, and possibly injury or death. *Like anything, when not treated with care, even the highest quality objects cannot be expected to last. Please check the necklace over for slipping crimps, corroding or fraying wire, or broken beads. Clean the necklace with gentle soap and water periodically. There is a lifetime guarantee on my necklaces: if a bead breaks, wire breaks, frays, etc., just ship it back to me (at cost to you) with $5.30 for shipping and I will gladly repair or replace the damaged piece and re-check it for additional repairs. Some beads may incur a charge to replace; these include but are not limited to gold, silver, or rarer stone components. *Collars and natural stone collar charms will be available
soon, which
are meant to function as collars or attach to a dog’s pre-existing
collar. |
