Dear Parents,
First of all I’d like to address a complaint that some parents have made. As I have mentioned before in prior newsletters, ALL CLASSES ARE 50 MINUTES LENGTH. The start time listed for the classes are 5:00, 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00. The 10 minutes before warm-ups allows the students time to arrive, get a drink of water, use the bathrooms, stretch and gives the parents time to speak with the instructor before exiting the class. Even with this system we still have students arriving during the warm-ups.
Here are the dates of our upcoming events:
Testing:
Tuesday March 6, 6:00pm: Yellow, Yellow/black, Orange and Orange/black
Tuesday March 6, 7:00pm: All other belt colors (purple & up)
***Advanced 8pm class & Adults – No test – you will test when told to by instructor ***
Please ORDER YOUR BELT AFTER THE TEST IF YOU ARE ADVANCING TO A NEW BELT TO GUARANTEE THAT YOU’LL HAVE THE BELT THE DAY OF THE CEREMONY.
The cost of a new belt is $15 CASH ONLY.
Belt Ceremony: Tuesday March 13 at 6:00pm (no 5pm or 8pm class). Please bring a snack to share for our party after the ceremony. If we all bring something we will have a more enjoyable party.
The sparring competition will be at the beginning of April. Dates to be announced. Train Hard! We will have nice awards. Now is a good time for all the new students to get your SPARRING GEAR, so you can start competing and getting ready for the tournament and other events. The cost is $93 for a full set, payment in advance. (Remember this is a contact sport. Let’s stay safe. Get your safety gear today!)
I want to apologize to all the people that had to wait for an appointment for a private lesson. The reason is that most of my regular students schedule their lessons for the same time each month. I have opened some classes on Sundays (2 or 3 a month). One private lesson makes a big difference in the student’s performance. So, please call me for an appointment today. The prices of the classes that we offer are less than half the price of a commercial school. The quality of classes is superior and we are a serious school with the representation of the largest and most prestigious Kenpo organization in the world today. My instruction is coming from the best instructors in Kenpo today. My advanced students are entitled to go to Baltimore every 2 weeks to take an instructor's class for 2 hours at no cost to them. We are making an effort to bring you a high quality program at the lowest cost (less than half the cost of commercial schools) with more benefits than any school in the area. All you have to do is be part of it and enjoy your classes.
I want to remind all of my ADULT students that Mr. Richard ‘Huk’ Planas, 9th degree Black Belt, will be here on: August 4th and Dec. 8th. Each Seminar will be approximately 4 hours.
Please remember to turn a copy of your report cards in because if your grades were all A’s & B’s (or the equivalent for younger students), you will get special mention and a small award the day of our ceremony. Good luck, get ready, and if you have any questions please give me a call.
