About Me
My Name is Jill Cockerham and I am currently
finishing up my senior year here at Herndon High School. I was born in Falls
Church, VA and grew up in Reston and Herndon, VA. In Elementary School I
attended both Armstrong Elementary and Forest Edge Elementary, and I attended
Middle School at Langston Hughes Middle School. I've spent the last four
years here at Herndon High School.
I've been busy with several activities, but i spend
most of my time devoted to music and church. At Herndon, I have been a member
of the Marching Band and Wind Ensemble for four years. During that time,
I have been principle clarinet for two year, a marching band section leader
for two years, 1st chair clarinet in District XII during my senior year,
and a member of the Honor band of America for three years. I've also been
a member of the choir department for 2 years. There I've been in Showchoir
for 2 years, Herndon Chorale for 1 year, Madrigals for one year, and a member
of the Broadway Cabaret cast in 2003. At My Church, Holy Trinity Lutheran
Church, I am President of the high school youth group, Alto leader in the
youth choir, and a member of the high school handbell choir for four years.
Upon Graduation, I have a busy summer ahead of me. I
will be working at Betty's Azalea Ranch in Fairfax most of the time, but I
have several trips planned as well. In July I will be attending my college
orientation, as well as traveling with my youth group to take part in the
Lutheran National Youth Gathering in Atlanta, Georgia. In August I'll spend
a few days in Boston with my family. At the end of my summer I'll be moving
to Charlottesville, VA and attending the University of Virginia. There, I
hope to study English and Music Composition.
