Song of Echo
Lo! And it was in the year of Our Lord,
Ninety-six and nineteen hundred,
That the noble Childe of Christendom
Patrick Wood, begat unto the Voide
A half score of Warrior Trubadors.
And their name, pluck'd from
The Great Muse's chaste bosom,
Was Looking For an Echo.
     And the Lord did grin...

Yea! As the Serpent of Time biteth
His own barbed tail, so did their
Sweete melodie crush their enemies
Before them.  And They, mighty
Trubadors of the Valley, did conquer
Englande, and Scotsland, and Wales,
And they did hear the lamentations of the women.
O Magnum Mysterium!  Ex patre Natum!

Rejoice! O ye whose heart doth
thirst for the Truth of Holiness.
The Knights who Sought Sight of the Echo,
Didst slay the ogre, Billy of the Joel.
And they didst set off on a Holy Crusade
Through Straassburg, and ye Olde Salem Towne.
Yet as the Serpent gnaweth away His livelihoode
So was Childe Patrick thrust into the Abyss.

Hwaet!  The Knights who sang "Chimbadim"
Bestowed upon Childe Peter Colbert of the Virgin Shores
The most Holy Crowne of Musicall Lordship.
And Childe the King Sir Peter shed new bloode
In the Crusades to the Darke Mount of Afton.
And the mysticall fog didst smite
Their gallant Lord's powder-blue steed.
The dragon of Myst lopped the noble steed's leg asunder.
     The Knights were much disheartened.

Yea! The Knight, Sir Hop-Singh
Of goode Charlotte's Shire, son of Jin-Pangh,
Son of Wu-Tangh, brother to Irn-Lungh,
Saviour of the Wicker People, in the Days of Yore
In the Golden Age of the Olde Ones,
To the Honour of the Echo Clan from Yonder Salem Towne
Didst hasten to change their Lorde's Most noble Valve Stem.
And there was much rejoicing.

Lo! In celebration of the Knights'
Most laborious conquests, Sir Chris,
Who Turned back the Bull, didst decree
To all the Holy nations of a Capella that much goode sport,
An Acappellacarnivella, wouldst transpire a
Fortnight from the Resurrection of Our Lorde.
Sir Sweete of Lodi didst engrave a warrior's frock.
And the Lady Knights of Smythe didst rule Valhalla.

Forsoothe! Goode Sir Will of the Farme-Keepe Clan,
Shall be thrust into steadfast service at the Right Hand
Of their Lorde as Archduke of Olin Sectionals.
The Childe King Sir Peter didst decree
The Most Holy Knights Seeking Sight of the Echo,
Shall, God willing, with no uncertainty,
Conquer and rule with hard hearts and much treachery,
Your next Party, Wedding, Bar Mitzvah, or Schoole Assembly.
Lorde in Thy mercy let your countenance shine down upon this,
Their most noble and holy quest.  Amen.
