"The Adventurers began
in 1986 in the Roanoke Valley as a way to retain
older Girl Scout membership, provide activity
resources for troop leaders and support
opportunities for girls who were not registered
with a troop." "By making it a unique
adventure and open up opportunities for girls to
experience something out of the ordinary ---
whether it be rock climbing, kayaking, quilting,
mountain biking, car tune-ups, or international
travel." This is still done today,
years later you can see some of the ways by going
to the calendar.
