These are my feeble attempt to provide genealogy on past citizens of St.Francis County, Arkansas. Any contributions would be appreciated to include pictures of headstones in cemeteries, and obits before 2000 not available on the internet anymore. Information is from various sources, and is not intended to be the gospel! Anyone can make an error in transposing information. Most of the data comes from the Social Security Death Index, which of course will not include anyone without a Social Security Number. The best source is the local library in Forrest City, and the Stevens Funeral Home for records of the county from about 1897 to date. The owner was usually the coroner until I left Forrest City in 1958. And last, the County Courthouse in Forrest City, which has records of births and deaths, or where to get them. I found that the Forrest City library has Obits from the local paper, the Forrest City Times Herald for quite a few years back to 1897, most issues are there, some are missing, they are on CD's accessible by computers in the library!
