Hopewell, Virginia
the unofficial site for Hopewell Blue Devils football
Welcome to another
exciting season of Hopewell Blue Devils football. The 2001 season looks to be another good one for Hopewell. In 2000, the Blue Devils finished the season
with an 8-4 record overall (4-2 record in the Central District). The Blue Devils also played for the Central
Region Championship for the second consecutive season, losing to Central
District Rival Dinwiddie 28-7, who was runner-up for the Division 5 Virginia
State Championship. The 2000 Hopewell
team was very young overall, replacing pretty much their whole offensive
line. On top of that, the front seven
on defense had to be replaced, leaving many question marks to be answered on
both sides of the ball. However, the
Blue Devils continued their winning tradition by making their fourth
consecutive trip to the Central Region playoffs.
