COMMUNITY SUPPORT
The utopian school district community supports, both philosophically and physically, a technology-rich education for each and every student. Philosophically, the commitment to support technology in education was a "no brainer". The community simply put their faith in the golden rule: do unto others, as you would want them to do unto you. The town folk and businesses collectively realized that if they supported today's students, then tomorrow's graduates would return the favor by using their education to strengthen the community.
Physical support comes in many forms. Take a stroll down Main Street on any given weekend and you will be sure to find a hodgepodge of local volunteers holding at least one educational fundraiser. On Election Day, you can always find a referendum in support of maintaining a top-notch educational system that is saturated with tons of current technological bells-and-whistles. Various types of businesses also offer support to our utopian school district.
Computer companies donate hardware and software, as well as technical support.
The phone company offers free Internet service for every school in the district. and gives district students and teachers free home Internet and email access. The phone company also supplies each classroom with free video-conferencing capabilities. The local media and office supply establishments are also eager to chip in. They make sure each school has plenty of digital video cameras, regular and digital cameras, printers, scanners and computer supplies.
