Pennine League Division 2
Todmorden 26 Keighley Albion 'A' 5

The second team were away to league leaders Todmorden last weekend and had a wealth of experience to call on in the team with Mark Kellett, Steve Bennett, and Simon Kelk taking to the field once more. Todmorden had the better of the early exchanges with a couple of tries in the opening minutes but Albion settled down and began to dominate the game in the first half hour but were unfortunate not to have anything to show for the pressure they exerted in the first half. Young Adam Eteson had a try disallowed and Kelk went close before Kellett slotted a penalty over.

Debutant Mark Jackson put in a great effort with some telling runs and excellent defence but it wasn't enough to get Albion back into the game and Todmorden took their lead into the second half.

Albion continued to play some good rugby in patches in the second half with Bennett, Mark Ingham, Wayne Smith and Jackson working overtime for the Keighley side. Todmorden had other ideas however and increased their lead towards the end of the game. Kellett added a penalty and a drop goal in the half but Albion just couldn't convert the opportunities they had to add a try to the scoreline.

Wayne Smith Mark Jackson and Simon Kelk were the pick of the Keighley side who next week travel to Bradford in the league to face Odsal Sedbergh.
