How to Use the Pen Tool
Using the pen tool will give your fashion designs a cleaner look and makes it possible to draw a straight line

1. Open up your base
croquis, have a sketch of what you want your design will look like
beside you
2. Click the pen tool |

3. Start clicking the outline of the shirt, this is like connecting the dots, don't worry about the color, you can change it later |

4. Look at your layers pallet, a new layer called Shape 1 has been created. To rename this, double click shape 1 and type in a new name for the layer. |

5. You might notice that your croquis is getting covered up by the color, to see the croquis underneath and give you a good guide, put the opacity down till about 75-35%, the number doesn't really matter as long as you still see the base and a little color |

6. This is the finished shirt with opacity down, if you are satisfied with the shirt, put the opacity down |

7. To Change the color double click on the color square beside shape 1, for this project it is blue, a color picker will appear, change it to the color you wish and then click ok |

8. You'll now see that your shirt has been changed to the color you want |

9. Now if you are not
satisfied and try to erase a part of the shirt, you'll find that you
can't. This is because it is a shape, to erase part of your shirt, go to
Layer ---> Rasterize -----> Shape. Then try to erase and you'll find
that you can.
10. To create skirts, pants, shoes ect, repeat the steps above. |
