1. Open up your fabric swatch

2. Making sure your fabric is selected, click select ---> All, this will cause the 'chasing ants' to go all around your fabric

3. Then click Edit ----> Define Pattern

4. This window will pop up, rename pattern if so desired

5. Open up your croquis and make sure the shirt or whatever you want to lay the pattern on is selected

5. Click the circle button with the f in it, a menu will appear, choose Pattern Overlay

6. This menu will pop up. Move the window so you can see the shirt, as you see the bubble pattern is already overlaid on the shirt

7. Click the little arrow beside the picture of the pattern, a little drop down menu will appear showing all the patterns, yours is usually the last swatch, click on it and you will see the pattern overlaid on the shirt

8. To change the size of the pattern, move the scale arrow. To get the pattern smaller, move it to the left, to make it larger, move it to the right. Keep moving it until you come up with the size of pattern that you like. Push OK to finish this.

9.  Look on your layers pallet, a sub category has appeared with Pattern overlay, to change the pattern again, just double click Pattern Overlay
