Biography & Political
Socialization
I am Elizabeth
Catherine Sieb. I was born on Tuesday,
June 11th, 1985 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. My parent’s names are Gregory and Diane Sieb. I also have two younger sisters. Sarah was born on March 13th,
1987 and Laura was born on July 3rd, 1990. We lived in Fort Wayne for the first ten years of my life. I went to Deer Ridge Elementary School. I was part of the gifted and talented
program and loved to read. I was a
gymnast for many years. I started playing soccer when I was five. I was also a Brownie Girl Scout. I grew up in the Catholic Church and
received my First Communion and also went to Sunday school every week.
In fourth
grade my family moved to Onalaska, Wisconsin.
There I attended Onalaska Middle School for grades 5th through
8th. I met my best friends
Emily Ballinger, Allison Brown, and Erin Gotro there. We were all in chorus. I
was in showchoir for four years and in choir as well. I loved to sing. I also
played on a travel soccer team for the four years as well. I went to Girl Scout camp for four summers
in a row. I liked roller blading and
riding bikes. My family got a dog when
I was in 7th grade. We named
her Maggie May.
The summer before
high school my family moved to Herndon, Virginia. We moved so that we could be closer to family. I attended Herndon High School for four
years and am graduating on June 17th, 2003! I participated in choir
throughout high school. I was in many
spring musicals and winter cabarets. I
was in showchoir as well. I still love
singing and dancing. I played soccer on
the JV team for one year. I took six AP
classes over two years. Education has
always been highly valued and imposed in my family. I plan to attend Mary Washington College in the fall.
I view government
as a necessary means for people to govern themselves. I think that the democratic system is the most logical and
efficient system. My Christian faith
plays an important role in why I believe the things that I do. I grew up in a fairly Conservative family
with parents who vote on a regular basis. My parents are both Republicans. My mom participates in community service and
we have always been encouraged to do the same.
I am active in my youth group at my church and like to serve in the
community. I am a Republican with many
Conservative views. I do not believe in abortion, which is the top reason I
support the Republican Party. It is an
important belief in my faith that from the moment of conception all life has
the inalienable right to life. I highly
favor gun control and believe in abolishing Affirmative Action present in the
college selection process. My beliefs
play an important role in my political socialization along with the different
regions in the country I have lived and the effect my parents and family have
had on me.
