Lexus RX300

AUX Audio Help Page

(For Lexus RX300 from 1997-2003)

1. How to install an auxiliary input so you can play your IPOD/MP3 player and XFM.

This installation will allow you to control the audio using the Lexus factory radio. So yes, you can adjust the volume, left/right, front/back, bass/mid/treble, and keep all the features it already had.

After completing the steps you will have an additional (headphone) jack located on the floor between the two front seats.

This is where you can plug any audio device that has a headphone jack and play it through your RX 300 Lexus audio system. The quality of the sound is perfect. You don't have to waste money on the FM transmitters or the clunky cassette tape hook ups. Those devices can't come close the the frequency response of having a direct line to you audio system.

I was able to do this installation in less than 2 hours.

Here is how I listed it on ebay....
How to install an Auxiliary Audio input so you can play your IPOD, MP3 player or XFM. Basically anything with a headphone jack. ( With NAV or Without NAV 1998-2002 RX-300) This step by step installation will allow you to control the audio using the Lexus factory radio. So yes, you can adjust the volume, left/right, front/back, Bass/Mid/Treble, and keep all the features it already had. After it is installed you just select the CD and it will play through your system. I got tired of using the FM transmitter and the cassette connection because of the hiss so I had to find a better solution. So I spent $80.00 on the electrical drawings for the RX-300 and found the cheapest, easiest and most efficient way to do it. So you only have to pay a fraction of the cost and you get the pictures step by step. Its Easy! Basically, if you can splice a few wires and either crimp, use a wire nuts or solder them together (do what you are familiar with) then this will be easy for you. What is really cool is you DON'T have to remove the radio or the CD changer! Now you can hear your MP3 through the great stereo that Lexus put in our cars.! My phone# will be on the procedure if you need some help... (Also)http://www.angelfire.com/va3/elenabasket/interest.htm * * If You would like it e-mailed to you let me know!
