"Boundary"

I believed you
So I drank your poison
I beseeched you
To make this poignant

I loved you
As an acquaintance
It didn’t take long
For that to change

I felt feelings for you
Until I learned
About the bridges
You had burned

Sorry for you
Sorry for me
Sorry for believing
Honestly

Face in me in your pose
Obverse as a rose
Your problems no one knows
Your fate is the one you chose

So I sat back
And watched
The octave
Go up a notch

I could hear
The obscurity
In your voice
It was the mere
Sound of rejoice

I listened
As you christened
Me the one who would break
Upon making the last mistake

You took your life
Full throttle
With a needle and a vein
To rid the pain you bottled

Fine, she says if you ask her
How she’s feeling is up to her
It’s her life and we gotta let her live it
We can’t do anything about it

She’s done much more
Than she’s told you
She wants to appease your belief
If you tell her to be careful
You’ve crossed a boundary

She’s matured too fast
She’s learned of the world
She doesn’t dwell on the past
She’s no woman, she’s just a girl

She’s lucky to be alive
She’s only in it for the ride
