EASTRIDGE, Swanson Dale, 78, of Dublin, passed away, Saturday, June 15, 2002. Dale was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Christiansburg, and a veteran of the Navy during WWII. He retired from the Lynchburg Foundry with forty years service. He was a loving husband to his wife, Rosa Juanita Eastridge, of Dublin; three sons and daughters-in-law, Swanson Dale, Jr. and Mildred Eastridge, of Atkins, Thomas and Trudy Eastridge, of Fairlawn, and John Alan Eastridge, of Atkins; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Arthur C. and Maxine Kestner, of Gowen, Mich.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Leola Yarber, of Bristol, Va., Revonda and Johnny Emrick, Fla.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ruth Eastridge, of Fla., Harry and Mary Lou Eastridge, of Ariz., Cecil and Cerile Eastridge, of Salem; three grandchildren, William Eastridge and wife, Tammy, Samantha Vires and husband, Tim, David Eastridge and wife, Misty; two step-grandchildren, Cory Kestner and wife, Sara, Gentra Kestner; a great-granddaughter, Jenny-Lynn Michael Vires. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Bible Holiness Church with Rev. Homer D. Sawyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Friends may call anytime after 4 p.m. Monday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Bible Holiness Church, 611 South Franklin Street, Christiansburg, Va. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
I didn't know granddad that long. But you know the time I knew him he touched My heart. He was a god fearing man. even in his last days. We all will miss him greatly.
Even in the last days Granddad never gave up his faith. He was ready to meet his lord and savior. The love of the family was one of the most important things to him. I am speaking for my self but he will be greatly missed. But he will always be in my heart.
