are judiciously bred to produce superior health,
structure, size, coat, and temperament for competition in the conformation
(show) rings of the American Kennel Club (AKC) as well as the United Kennel Club (UKC),
and the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC).
We selectively breed our AKC
conformation Champions who are over two years of age, after medical and genetic testing
and pedigree research to meet the standards of
the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America (PWDCA), to ensure the integrity of the
breed, and our breeding program.
Puppies
are evaluated for structure and temperament at eight weeks of age.
Puppies who are not chosen for “show” are available to approved homes on spay/neuter
contracts.
Baycliff
Portuguese Water Dogs are home raised in a loving environment where they are
encouraged to display their natural sense of humor and spirit, which we channel
through training and play. We are proud to have these ancient
mariners in our lives, and in our home on the Chesapeake Bay.
