The universe is a nice place to live. No planets run into us. There are no aliens to worry about. There are lots of wide-open spaces.
If I zoom in a little, I can see the planet to which I call home. Earth is nice. It's a little polluted and a little cluttered, but there are still remnants of beauty here and there. Earth is made up of 7 continents and 4 oceans. I live on hte continent of North America. North America is a pretty nice place to live. The climate is fairly even. The people are fairly nice. We don't have a dictator. We enjoy prosperity. To the North of America is Canada. To the East is the Atlantic Ocean. To the West is the Pacific Ocean. To the South there is Mexico.
Virginia is the state I live in. It is one of 50 that belong to the United States. Virginia is on the East Coast and is right next to the Atlantic Ocean. Virginia has nice weather. It enjoys a mixture of snow, rain, and sunshine. Virginia became famous because it was where the first permanent settlement was built, Jamestown.
If we narrow the picture down even further, we can see my county. I live in King George County. My city is called King George also. I live on a little strip of Route 205 in between Route 3 and Route 301. Route 301 leads to Dahlgren, where my parents work. Route 3 leads to Fredericksburg, the big city, or Ferry Farm, where I now work. I think I could drive these roads in my sleep. I've traveled them since birth.
My house is the midpoint between these two roads. Since my birth, I have lived in the same house and same bedroom. My parents built this house in 1978, 2 years after they were married. It was a fairly modern house for the time. A split foyer house with a little deck and a few years later added a garage: this was my parents dream house. When they brought me into the world, this place became my home. Through the years, it changed little by little. We painted it a different color or took away the poles from the basement. We added new carpet, windows, and hard wood floor, but this place remained home.
Our house consists of 11 rooms. There are 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, a den, a craft room, a laundry room, and a kitchen. When looking out one of the front windows, I see a beautiful field, now turned into a golf course. I can also see Route 205, and across the field I can see the house where my grandmother died. When looking out one of the back windows or siting on the porch, I can see the forest adn our small backyard. I can also see the driveway with the 3 cars, one for each family member. When I was young, I could have looked around the corner and seen a pool or a playground.
My bedroom is on the second floor of the house. It was purple for much of my youth but now its gone pink. It's adjacent to my parent's bedroom adn the guest bedroom. I have two windows, which usually stay shut. During my early teenage years, one culd nto have seen my walls because they were covered in posters. Now, my room is decorated simply. There are many pictures of my friends that adorn my bedroom. There are also, many memories from France and many home decor pieces from Cato. My room is a bit sloppy because I rarely have time to clean it. There is always a quilt on my bed, whether its winter or summer. It's my own little section of the universe.
