It is the first Indian Association in Austria established in 1974 and the first Malayalee Association in Austria as well. It was started by all Malayalees in Austria.It is a social, cultural and literal organisation .The objective of this association is to bring India closer to Austria .Austria is a small democratic country which is having double the size of Kerala. It has a population of 75 Lakhs. German is its official language. It is also the third UN City.The head quarters of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is in Vienna and also head quarters of some other UN organisations like CTBTO and UNIDO. Vienna is its Capitol. Austria has nine states and Vienna is the Capitol City and also the smallest state .Malayalees started coming over to Austria during the seventies. There were nearly 80 Malayalees when Malayalee Association was started. At the end of the 1999 there were 5734 Malayalees in Austria. But quite recently around 3000 Malayalees left Austria and most of them went to Switzerland and some went to London . We have different comminities like Indian Catholic Community, Jacobite Community, Hindu Community, Sikh Community etc here in Austria.
