HISTORY

This group originated in 1993 with the Augusta County Parks & Recreation Department, Augusta County, Virginia. No longer sponsored by the County, the group is now independent and continues to grow.

TWIGS BRANCHES OUT

Now that we are "on our own" we have adopted a new name. We know that from little acorns, oak trees grow. We have passed the acorn stage and are self-proclaimed TWIGS, ready to be nurtured and produce fruit.

TO A YOUNG WRITER
Choose words as you'd choose stones to build a wall:
Consider well; some kinds use not at all,
Or sparingly; compare, experiment,
Build up, tear down, and never be content
With wavering structure; seek solidity.
Word-wall or stone-wall--either one needs balance
And precision. Build always for endurance!
