School Library Media Services

services, a graduate might pursue a library career in a private
or public, elementary or secondary educational institution. Most
school library media positions in public schools require state
certification of the school library media specialist as a teacher.
This teacher certification must be acquired by the student independently
of the library school. The student should verify with his/her
local certification board that the courses for which he/she enrolls
meet all certification requirements.
The course of study listed below has program
accreditation by the National Association of State Directors of
Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) and the National
Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
