Through an arrangement with the Virginia State Council of Higher Education, the School of Library and Information Science currently offers courses taught at three Virginia locations, open only to Virginia residents: George Mason University, Old Dominion University, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Independent Study and Practicum are available each semester to students at the Virginia sites. The school also currently offers courses at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. (open only to employees of Library of Congress).
Students must earn at least nine of the 36 semester credit hours on the campus of The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Independent study and Practicum do not satisfy the nine-hour residency requirement.
