Music Librarianship
The Catholic University of America provides
an ideal setting for students pursuing a concentration
in music librarianship. The school offers key courses in music
librarianship and music bibliography, and enjoys the benefits
of cooperative programs with the University's highly regarded
Benjamin T. Rome School of Music and its fine music library. Given
the strengths of both the library and information science and
music programs, students often choose to enroll in the joint degree
program earning an M.A. in Musicology as well as an M.S. in L.S.
Studies in music librarianship are further enhanced by the world-class
music collections and concert life of the Washington, D.C. area
where students find a full range of career opportunities in academic
and public libraries as well as in the music industry.
The CUA School of Library and Information Science
offers a variety of courses that focus on music librarianship.
Each student will take four required core courses along with appropriate
mid-level and advanced courses. The student will consult with
