Information Systems
Information systems specialists design, implement,
operate and maintain computers, local areas networks and Internet
connections. Systems specialists work in libraries managing network-based
cataloging, circulation, and document delivery systems. They work
in records centers controlling the information needed by businesses
and organizations. They work in computerized information centers
managing documents on internal networks and presenting and accessing
information on the Internet. People who can combine the spirit
and skills of librarianship with digital tools and techniques
of computing will be in demand.
The CUA School of Library and Information Science
offers a variety of courses that focus on information systems
technology. Each student will take four required core courses
along with appropriate mid-level and advanced courses. The student
will consult with his/her advisor to determine which courses will
best meet his/her personal and professional needs. Required core
