GEORGE MASON UNIVERSITY SITE INFORMATION

• CUA ID Card: As a student of The Catholic University of America, you are entitled to a CUA student photo-identification card. To receive one, you must go to the Office of Public Safety (121 Leahy Hall). You must be officially registered (your bill must be paid) before that office will issue an ID. The ID card will enable you to use any of the CUA or consortium libraries (if validated at CUA Mullen Library Circulation Desk), and to attend any of the campus functions that require student identification. This ID card must be validated every semester. You are not required to have a CUA ID card to attend courses at the GMU site, however you will need one when you fulfill the residency requirement.
  

• Holidays: In case of different holiday dates between CUA and GMU, follow the CUA holiday schedule unless your professor indicates otherwise.
  

• Library Privileges: To use either George Mason University (Fenwick or George W. Johnson Center) Library, take your validated CUA ID Card to Mullen Library on the CUA campus to be updated. Next, take your ID to Fenwick Library or George W. Johnson Center Library to be updated in the GMU system. You will use your CUA ID Card for checking out materials or utilizing reserve items.
  

• Off-Campus Assistant: An off-campus assistant who is also a student in the program works part-time to help you with off-campus matters. You may contact Ms. Beth DeAngelo at (703) 491-9718, or e-mail to deangelob@hotmail.com if you have any questions regarding information about the GMU site.

• Parking: In order to park on the George Mason University campus, you are required to purchase a GMU parking permit or daily pass. Parking permits or passes are required until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Permits cost $125.00/year or $75.00/semester and can be obtained through the Traffic and Parking Office at (703) 993-2710. Passes are valid for one day only and can be purchased at any parking kiosk for $4.00. You will need to show the attendant a valid CUA student ID to purchase a pass. Parking is also available at the parking deck/garage located on Mason Drive next to the Concert Hall. The rate is $1.25/hour for a maximum of $6.00"
  
  

• Reserve Material: All assigned readings will be on reserve at the George W. Johnson Center Library (unless otherwise specified by your instructor). You must present your CUA ID card and ask for reserve material at the reserve desk located in GJCL. Phone (703) 993-9060 or 9048 for further information on reserve material. Fenwick circulation department may be contacted at (703) 993-2240 for other circulation questions.
  

• Semesters of Course Availability: Courses are offered at the GMU site in the fall and spring semesters. Courses are not offered at GMU in summer. See the Cycle of Courses for more information about course availability.

• Textbooks: All required textbooks and recommended texts for your courses will be available for purchase at the George Mason University Bookstore located in the George W. Johnson Center. Phone (703) 993-2666 for bookstore hours.

• University Closings: If George Mason University closes for snow or other emergencies, The Catholic University of America classes at GMU will also be canceled, whether or not classes are being held at the CUA campus. If in doubt, call GMU at (703) 993-1000. On Saturdays call the GMU Security Office at (703) 993-2810. All announcements are made on the radio.
