Goals:

To preserve, enhance and perpetuate the American cultural tradition of artistry and craftsmanship in woods.

To promote wider community interest in woodcarving as an art form and craft through demonstrations and educational activities

To provide guidance and assistance to beginners and experienced alike

To create opportunities for fellowship with others who share an interest in carving - regardless of sex, race, age, religious beliefs, or level of carving experience

To give the general public opportunities to experience the visual and tactile joys unique to feel and appearance of functional or decorative wood carving.

The Northern Virginia Carvers is a not-for-profit association, organized in April, 1973 and incorporated in February, 1978.  Our members are primarily from the Washington D.C. metropolitan area but welcome to participate.

To become a member of the Northern Virginia Carvers, print the membership application, fill it out, and mail to the Club's address listed on the form.
