My Influences

No one in the world can say that they weren't influenced by someone in their whole lives. This page is a small shrine to a couple of people that I look up to. (Also, I have a site devoted to my Hero, Terry Funk, at https://www.angelfire.com/va2/FunkU/ )

Terry Funk

There is no man on this planet I respect more than Terrence (Terry) Funk. This man, a pro wrestler, has done more for his fans than an intern has done for ol' Billy Boy Clinton. This man has thrown himself on fire, hurt by explosives that were right under him, cut open with barbed wire, knives, and other pointy objects. Take note that he doesn't have to do this stuff, but he wants to do it for the sake of his fans.

I can't think of any other person in this world that deserves more respect than "Ol' Middle Aged And Crazy" Terry Funk.

Jimmy

This is Jimmy. One of my largest influences because he is so laid back and just out of it, he makes me look like that crippled smart dude who has the world's highest IQ. But he's cool, and that's what mainly counts.

Paul Heyman

Paul Heyman.

One name says it all.

Ok, to those of you who don't know, in the early 90's, there was a wrestling organization in Philadelphia named Tri-State Wrestling Association (the ORIGINAL TWA). Around late 1993, it folded, and WCW manager Paul "E. Dangerously" Heyman started up Eastern Championship Wrestling with financial backer Tod Gordon, basing it out of his basement and running the shows out of The Viking Hall/Bingo Hall in Southern Philly.

With very little money and not much talent, he pieced together what would become the (now gone just weeks before this writing) most defiant, deviant, destructive wrestling organization to ever grab the attenion of wrestling fans, and choke them to death.

That federation? Extreme Championship Wrestling. ECW. E C FUCKIN' W!!!

Despite the fact that Paul is now just a color commentator on RAW and WWF PPVs, he influenced not only a group of performers, but an entire sport itsself.

I can't quote the man due to the fact even if I typed it here, it wouldn't have the feel as like seeing him or hearing him say it himself (or at least on tape). Go rent "Beyond The Mat: Special Collector's Edition" to see what I'm talking about. If you wouldn't jump off a bridge at his immediate order, you must be screwed up... or not a wrestling fan... or just a typical "mark".
