Welcome to My First Web Site

I'm just a regular guy with regular interests and a kind of bizarre Dilbert-esque sense of humor. I have lived here in the Northern Virginia area for 14 years after growing up in south Louisiana. After more than 13 years of solitary confinement, I have a roommate, Kobe, that I got from the Washington Animal Rescue League in December 1999. I have pretty varied interests ranging from my work as a volunteer firefighter/EMT to sports to travel to photography. OK, you get the picture (pun intended).

My favorite sports teams are the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, LSU, New Orleans Saints (ugh), Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles, the Washington Capitals, the Washington Wizards (ugh) and the ECHL juggernaut, Louisiana IceGators.

Having been here for awhile, I thought that I would offer a public service and provide visitors, newcomers, and local slackards who still don't know their way around my fair county with a guide to the Best of Arlington. This link gives you one man's (translate: my) opinion of the best gym, best bar, best burger, etc. in the County.

I have had the good fortune of traveling all over the country (35 states) and all over the world (5 continents) for the most part on my company's nickel. You'd think with all of this travel, I'd be a little more cultured. Nah! I set up an international travel page to share some thoughts on some of the off-the-beaten path places I have had the chance to visit. It is exciting and it is glamorous, but it is always good to come back home!
