If you've been surfing the web for more than a year or so, you already know what I am about to tell you- all modems are not created equal. We all know we shop by price, but skimping on that you get screwed in the end when doing that. 3Com-USR is the top pick for the Modem category they might be the most expensive, but in the long run it is worth it. Just one thing to keep in mind is stay away from the Win Modem by 3Com-USR, this modem uses software to run flow of data while the other just use the hardware itself. By doing everything in software it is usually nowhere near efficient.

I put this company on here not because they paid me, but because of the many stores that carry their modems and how many they make. This company is what I am talking about when you start skimping the prices. When I went to go buy modems to test i got one of Best Data's modem for $4.99 (after $20.00 rebate) Also if you purchase a certain model you get a USB hub from the company. WHAT A DEAL. Pretty cool you think? The quality is pretty good but is nowhere near the same as 3Com-USR modems. I found that the modem hangs at times and is slow, but I think as looking for a gaming modem stay away from this company.
