How To Get Saved

Hi and welcome to this website. This site was set up for one purpose and that is to explain God's salvation in the simplest ways I can find. I will use short stories to explain. God bless you. James

Jump To Safety

I heard a story of a young girl about five years old. She was trapped in a fire at a third story window. The window was open and she was screaming for help. A man heard her cries and ran to help her. However, he could not enter the building because of the smoke and flames. He ran under the little girls window, held out his arms towards her and told her to jump. She was afraid and would not jump. He continued to tell her to jump and encouraged her by saying "trust me, I will catch you." Finally, the smoke and the flames were so bad that she climbed into the window and jumped into the man's outreached arms. The little girl lived because she trusted the man to catch her. She demonstrated real faith in the man. If she had not trusted the man she would no doubt have died in the fire.

For the person who has not trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior the flames and smoke of Hell fire are sneaking upon them today. There is a window open to all. Jesus has his loving arms open to all who will come to Him. Just like the little girl in the story, it is up to you. God's holy word tells us "He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but him that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believeth in the name of the only begotten Son of God" (John 3:18).

My friend, Heaven is real and Hell is real. The little girl in the story had to take a chance by jumping into the man's arms. She could have been hurt or killed if he missed her. Jesus will never miss. The only chance you are taking is by not coming to Jesus. Jesus said "........and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37). You don't have to jump, just go to Jesus in prayer. God has made it easy for us to escape the flames of the fire. Come to Him by faith. Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us "For grace are you saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, least any man should boast". If there was any other way to be saved Jesus would never had to die on the cross.

If you will accept Jesus as your personal Savior:

1. Realize that you are a sinner and cannot save yourself: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

2. There is a price to be paid for sin: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". (Romans 6:23)

3. Christ has paid the price for our sins: "But God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". (Romans 5:8)

4. Believe on the Lord Jesus and call on Him to save your soul: "That if thou shalt confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10) "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

If you believe in the Lord Jesus just tell Him. Let Him know that you are sorry for your sins and that you believe he died on the cross for your sins and rose from the grave on the third day. Ask Him to come into your heart and save your soul.

Choose Life

Let's take a look at spiritual life and death. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (Gen.1:1). When God created all good things on the earth then He created man on the sixth day (Gen 1:26-31). And the Lord planted a garden east of Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed (Gen. 2:8). And the Lord commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the Tree of the Knowlwdge Of Good And Evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Gen. 2:16-17). This is the first choice of life and death I can see in the Word of God. Adam and Eve knew only good and had life until they chose to eat from The Tree Of The Knowledge Of Good And Evil (Gen. 3:6).

In the New Testament Jesus told us that whosover believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved world that He gave his only begotton Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotton Son of God (John 3:15-18).

My friend, did you notice that he that believeth not is already condemned. Jesus had just told Nicodemus, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). Is this your question today? If so, realize that Christ has made a way for you to have eternal life. Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that hearth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life (John 5:24).

Remember, Adam had life, but chose death. Jesus said that we pass from death to life when we believe on Him. One day Moses was speaking to the children of Isreal and said, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore choose life, that thou and thy seed may live:" (Duet. 31:19). There was a choice between life and death for the chrildren of Isreal. The apostle Paul wrote "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor. 6:2).

Is God touching your heart today and giving you the choice of life eternal or everlasting condemnation. If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and will choose life:

1. Realize that you are a sinner; For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God: (Romans 3:23).

2. There is a price to be paid for sin; For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, (Romans 6:23).

3. Christ has paid the price for our sins; But God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Jesus Christ, (Romans 8:1).

4. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and call on Him to save your soul; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13)

If this will be your day of salvation, if you will choose life, and if you believe in the Son of God, then pray to God. Confess to God that you are a sinner. Confess that Jesus died for your sins. Tell God that you believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose from the grave in victory over sin. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and save your soul.

The Bible says "But as many as recieve Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12)
