than half of all personal computers used in business and education are
networked, and the number of networks is rapidly increasing and the need
for qualified professionals to install, service and manage the network
is apparent. As the number of networks increases, the demand for
highly skilled network administrators also increases.
Students enrolled in the Computer Network Administration program are taught the fundamental duties of network administrtion and maintenance. These duties include adding users, assigning security to users, writing login scripts, backing up system software, installing application software, and managing the printed environment. The curriculum also includes hardware operation and configuration and operating system use and installation. The program is designed to prepare the student to take industry recognized certification exams need to enhance employment opportunities. |

Characteristics | Students who are intereste in Computer network Administration should be above average academically and should have a strong desire to deelop skills in computer applications with an emphasis on computer networking. They should take as many computer classes as are available at the feeder school prior to enrolling in computer Network Administration. |
